Casacalenda looks like a fairy tale village, doesn't it? |
My short film Synergy was invited to the 9th edition of the Italian film festival MoliseCinema, held from August 2nd to 7th in Casacalenda. They saw my film at Clermont-Ferrand and are interested on screening it. Yay!
According to the organization, MoliseCinema aims to promote the latest and most innovative works of the italian and international cinema, encouraging young authors and new ways of expression. They claim the right to enjoy cinema at the small italian towns, "a right stifled for decades by the cultural domination of television and by the distribution policies which favour large urban areas and multi-screen cinemas", they state.
So far, Synergy won the 2011 Merit Award from the Awareness Film & Arts Festival (Los Angeles); went to the 26th Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market (France); and was screened at the 4th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival last month.
